We are accepting unsolicited submissions in 2017 for the following projects/anthologies at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Péinate: Hair Battles Between Latina Mothers & Daughters
New Voices Reading Series Anthology, 2018
For each project:
Please submit only one story or essay (7,000-word limit), or up to five poems at a time, per project (if applicable) as an attachment (PDF or MS Word Document). Multiple submissions will be disregarded. We ask that you please wait until you hear back from us before submitting new work for consideration.
All submissions should adhere to standard manuscript formatting (12pt font, double-spaced, Times New Roman), and represent a final draft of your best work. All identifying information should be removed; only titles and page numbers should appear on headers or footers throughout. Please include your name, contact information, bio, and submission title(s) and word counts in the body of your email. Submissions not adhering to blinding guidelines will be disregarded.
- For PÉINATE–writers and poets (and the mothers in question) must identify as Latinx. All submission must be on-theme. DEADLINE: JUNE 30, 2017. The subject line of your email should read: PÉINATE_[GENRE]_[AUTHOR’S LAST NAME]
- For NEW VOICES, 2018–only writers who have participated in the New Voices Reading Series, featured in a Pluma y Tinta panel or reading, or participated in a Pluma y Tinta writing workshop, are eligible to submit. DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 30, 2017. The subject line of your email should read: NV18_[GENRE]_[AUTHOR’S LAST NAME]
We shall do our best to respond within three months but this period may be longer. If you have not received a response from us within three months, we will be happy to receive e-mail inquiries and will do our best to respond. Please do not call the office with inquiries. We appreciate your patience!
We accept simultaneous submissions. In the event that the work is accepted for publication elsewhere, please do us the courtesy of informing us promptly.
Only previously unpublished works will be considered for publication. Stories, essays, and poems previously posted on personal blogs or websites are NOT eligible; they are considered published.
